The Château de Montrottier is a medieval gem surrounded by nature, overlooking Lake Annecy. Built in the 13th century, this fortified castle was transformed into an elegant Renaissance residence before being restored in the 19th century by the La Rochefoucauld family.
Its architecture mixes crenellated towers, moats and inner courtyard, offering a journey through time. Inside, visitors discover furnished rooms, ancestral portraits and a library rich in ancient works. The gardens, inspired by French gardens, add a touch of serenity to the place.
The castle is also famous for its legends, such as that of the ghost of the White Lady. Today, it can be visited and hosts exhibitions and cultural events, while remaining an inhabited private property.
