Where to enjoy Christmas atmosphere near Annecy?
Discover a few places near Annecy to enjoy the Christmas magic: Annecy Christmas market, le Château du Père Noël in Menthon St Bernard, le parc d’Andilly, les Flottins in Evian and Montreux Christmas market.
1/ Annecy Christmas market starts at the end of November until early January.
The market is in the garden behind the city hall and also opposite the city hall (rue du lac). You will find some chalet selling presents and food specialties from all around the world… A big food and drink court in Jardin de l’Europe, where you can of course find some mulled wine and food. In the evening, there is usually a DJ playing some music. Also a carroussel and ice rink for kids. In the Old Town, the Cathedral and Music Hall are displaying a light and music show at night.

2/Le Château du Père noël in Menthon st Bernard
This is 20 min drive from Annecy but definetely worth it! You can park in Menthon port and use the free shuttles as the parking at the Castle is often full.
It is one of my favourite place to visit, it really feels magical! They have craft workshop for kids, Santa is often around, you also have people dressed up walking around and musicians. A craft market, an ice rink and a food court with parties and games at night.

3/ Andilly Park
Between Annecy and Geneva, in Andilly, you have the Hameau du Père Noël and the Grand Parc de Noël.
You can buy combined tickets, the hameau is smaller and mostly about Santa. I prefer the big park with Santa’s naughty’s brother, the Nutcrackers house, a show, a mini farm and outdoor activities. I already wrote a post on it;

4/Montreux Christmas market
Montreux Christmas market is huge and it is a long walk by Leman Lake. There are approximately 150 chalets (presents, food and drinks), a big wheel, a flying Santa… You can visit Chillon Castle and Montreux while you are there.

5/Les Flottins in Evian-les-Bains
This is also one of the amazing place to go and has a different Christmas feeling.
