How to reach Col de la Forclaz? When arriving from Annecy, turn left before Talloires and follow D42 which will take you to the top of the col at 1150m.

It is also called Forclaz-de-Montmin, Forclaz meaning “a way in the mountain”, as it can be used to go from Talloires to Faverges (not the easiest way…).

When going there, the weather should be clear and sunny so you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the lake and mountains! One of the best spot for photos!

Nearby, you will see the Tournette Mountain.

The Tour de France has been there 3 times in 1959, 1997 and 2004.

I also enjoy going hiking there and having pik nik with my friends.

If you are brave, it is the perfect place to try paragliding! In the summer, the sky is all colorful with so many of them! I did it 15 years ago and it was an amazing experience, not so scary and the view was just amazing!

You can walk up hill to the paragliders departure, it is interesting to see and a nice walk up hill.

Near the Col, you can also hike to Aulps chalet (1 hour) or to the Tournette (6 hours).

At the Col, you will find 2 souvenirs shops with cow bells, old fashioned clocks and alpine souvenirs.

You also have a few farms where you can buy local cheese, also a couple of restaurants with local cheese specialities.
