Le Belvédère

Le Belvédère restaurant is approximately 30 min away by car from Annecy or 20 min from Aix-les-Bains, it is on top of the mountain in St Germain la Chambotte.

It was built in 1882 and Queen Victoria went there a few times.

It has been recently renovated, the Chefs, Marie-Laure and Stéphane will offer you some lovely dishes made with fresh local products.

They even make a reblochon ice cream!

I went there to test it for you (ok for me too!), and the service was really good, the food was excellent with a local touch! And finally, not a touristic trap, it is really authentic!

The view on Lake Bourget is just amazing!

Please book in advance as it is quite often full! No wonder why!

On top of the restaurant, you have a panoramic terrasse (with a map) and the best view of the Lake and Aix-les-Bains.

You can also stop for a drink or light snack during the summer days!

From there, you can also visit the Chautagne wine cellars, Chanaz, Hautecombe Abbey https://www.taxi-massingy.com/en/hautecombe-abbey/, Aix-les-Bains….

Be aware, that the road going down to Chautagne is quite narrow but to go up from Annecy is fine!
