Col des Aravis and Hike to Chalet du Curé

Le Col des Aravis is a mountain pass between  La Clusaz in Haute-Savoie and La Giettaz in Savoie. You can reach it by using the road D 909 and is  1 486 m high. Often used during the Tour de France and loved by the cyclists.

The chapelle  is dedicated to Sainte Anne, the travelers saint. Built in 1650, rebuilt in 1765 by the priest of La Giettaz. This chappelle is in La Clusaz but both parishes are looking after it.

Leaving the parking at Col des Aravis, a family hike for all, approximately 3 hours walk which offers a wonderful view on Mont Blanc. You will be able to admire the Snowy tops of Aiguille verte, Aiguille Midi and Mont Blanc.

Le chalet du Curé is in a lovely mountain pasture. At the Croix des Frêtes, top point of the hike, the view is even better. The panorama is wider, of course, you can still see the mont Blanc, but also the Beaufortain and Vanoise glaciers. Rhododendrons and wild bluberries are also seen on this path.

You will also find some alpine farms where you can buy the local reblochon cheese of the best quality.
