Chamonix Mont-Blanc, the internationally famous Capital of Skiing and Mountaineering, is also, and above all, a multi-faceted ski resort.

From Chamonix, take the cable car over the forest to reach the Plan de l’Aiguille (2317 m). Admire the Glacier des Bossons, the Mont-Blanc, the Aiguille Verte, the Drus and the Aiguilles de Chamonix. Then take a second cable-car which will take you up to an altitude of 3777m in just 10 minutes, above glaciers. Take the top lift and you will reach the peak at 3842m! Welcome to the Aiguille du Midi!

Perched at 3842 meters this rocky peak is a doorway to the high mountains with 360 degree views of all the surrounding mountains from the terraces.

I will recommend you to go there early in the morning to enjoy most of the day, you can also get a multi pass to do Montenvers train and Mer de Glace.

Most people will speak English (as plenty over there) and you can also find lunch or breakfats offers for English or English products in supermarkets but do not forget the cheese fondue!
