Talloires is my favourite village by the lake, it has also a few lovely hotels and restaurants there. Auberge du Père Bise is probably one of the best table of the area, but for most people, it is very expensive, next to it, you will find the Bistrot 1903 which offers excellent cuisine at a reasonable price in a casual way!
At the “1903”, the lakeside pub of Auberge du père Bise, you can enjoy genuine and pleasant cuisine, inspired by traditional recipes or classics from the inn, that are craftily revisited by Jean Sulpice.
Jean Sulpice’s cuisine has a rustic, traditional, almost peasant-like dimension. A pub also carries the spirit of a family based cuisine that is dear to him: parents and children gathered around the same table to share a gourmet meal. At the “1903”, the year when Bise chalet was founded, history and tradition persist in the recipes that are made available: the special Sunday meal is available every day!
« A pub maintains the same quality requirement as any gourmet restaurant would. The only difference would be simpler dishes and ambience. » — Jean Sulpice

Talloires has long lived on agriculture and the influence of its Abbey, a Benedictine priory founded in the eleventh century became a royal abbey in the seventeenth, the site having been transformed into an upscale hotel from the late nineteenth century.
Located on a plateau at the edge of the lake and at the foot of the alpine massifs, it has developed many tourist activities that make it a popular holiday resort, combining nautical pleasures and the benefits of a preserved natural environment.
Talloires/Montmin has an exceptional mid-mountain environment and one of the world’s leading sites for paragliding.
